Managing Director Post

Post Title:  Managing Director of the incubator for the development of leather industry

Duration:  One Year (12 months) renewable

Date Required:  Immediately

Duty station: The technological incubator, North Wing of Sudan University for science and technology, Khartoum North, Sudan

Duties :

 Under the supervision of the high executive council of the incubator and in cooperation with its staff the Managing Director will perform the following main duties:

a.      Supervise the compilation and implementation of the approved  annual; plan and operation  of the incubator

b.     Supervise the recruitment, management and training of the incubator staff.

c.     Identify and analyze mechanisms for linking the incubator with the leather industry using the tools of capacity  building, applied research, incubation of projects and consultancies .etc

d.     Identify and analyze mechanisms for the development and innovation of the leather industry, implementation and funding of projects.

e.      Extend the activities and consultancies of the incubator to other areas and states targeting the development of the industry.

f.       Any other duties assigned by the high council of the incubator.

Work experience

He/She should be a national expert in industrial development in general and leather industry in particular.

He/She should have solid   technical expertise on the status of Leather industry in Sudan and/or other countries; previous relevant working experience is highly desirable.

Qualification

         -Engineer, leather chemist veterinarian or any other relevant discipline and/or industrial economist highly qualified in leather processing and/or leather products manufacturing, applied research work.

He/She should have a reasonable experience ;post graduate qualification desirable

Language:

              Arabic and good working knowledge of English is highly essential

Project Background:

The Ministry of industry and Sudan University for science and technology have taken the initiative to establish an incubator for the development of leather and leather products industry in the Republic of Sudan

The two partners have incorporated with them the private sector represented by the leather and leather products chamber Sudanese Industrial chambers association ( SICA), and small  scale and handcrafts chambers  association as part of  the project being the major  beneficiaries for the services of the incubator.

The Strategic goal of the project is to contribute to the development and innovation of the leather industry sector
